Nestled in the quaint village of Grasmere in The Lake District, Daval was commissioned by Studio Said to design and manufacture the kitchen as part of a full renovation of an unloved and tired apartment into a cosy holiday home.
Colour: Woodland Green
Worktop: Bianco Aria
After removing an existing wall between the kitchen and living room to flood the space with light and create an open-plan living and dining area, our Linton cabinetry was specified for its contemporary shaker-style design that is both modern and timeless.
Keen to draw the stunning scenery that surrounds the property indoors, soft Woodland Green was chosen as the colour palette for the kitchen, complemented by classic Bianco Aria worktops and a beautiful antique effect glass splashback to sit behind the hob and reflect the views out of the window opposite.
Adding characterful cottage charm, we specified Jim Lawrence Club wall lights to sit either side of hand-made oak shelves (not supplied by Daval) and introduced dark brushed brass hardware from Hendel & Hendel’s Walcott collection to sit perfectly with the muted green tone across the cabinetry.
This small but perfectly formed cottage-inspired shaker kitchen makes great use of the space in this lovely holiday home and creates a real sense of warmth and a homely feel through the use of the muted Woodland Green, engineered oak flooring, and brushed brass accents in the wall lights and handles. A classic yet contemporary kitchen that will look beautiful for years to come.
