Having spent over a year renovating their stunning period home in West Yorkshire, our clients commissioned Daval to design and manufacture a made-to-measure kitchen that would become the heart of the family home.
Worktop: Client’s own
Our brief was to create a space that was equally as practical as it was beautiful; one that would work as an everyday, family kitchen, but also form a stunning social space in which our clients could entertain family and friends with ease.
Leaning into the property’s period features, we worked with the client to develop a design featuring our Oakley cabinetry. It’s in-frame design is much in keeping with a more traditional style of kitchen, but streams of light flooding into the kitchen through the beautiful bay and sash windows allowed us to bring in a modern twist by using our deep Charcoal colour across all the cabinetry.
Stand-out features include a free-standing, ‘hidden’ bar tucked behind bi-folding doors – ideal for entertaining of an evening – a handy day pantry cupboard which provides the perfect home for the microwave and everyday items including a coffee machine and toaster, and an impactful, antique-effect mirrored splashback that runs the full width of the main cooker run behind the Aga.
It was a pleasure to be commissioned on this project and help our clients to create their dream kitchen after a long period of building and renovation work to create the perfect blank canvas for this beautiful family home.
Opting for a single colour across all the cabinetry was a bold choice, but it really works well due to the amount of natural light that flood into the space – creating a light, airy living space in the day time, and a more intimate, cosy room in which to relax on an evening.
The ‘hidden’ bar and antique glass splashback make practical yet beautiful additions to the kitchen and create a wow factor that gives this classic cabinetry and contemporary edge.
